She rasied her eyebrows. "Funny thing is, I can't imagine me being any other way either." She said with a sigh. "But I do feel that life would be easier if it had turned out another way." She bit her lip to keep from continuing. It wasn't fasir of her to be dumping all her problems on him, he had enough to deal with. "At least I'd be able to sleep at night." She finished softly as she covered a yawn with her hand.
"Some things wouldn't change though, I'd still be a book-smart freak who remembers everything. I'd probably still be in dance and gymnastics, even if was only as a cheerleader." A smile tugged at her lips. "And we'd move to a huge house with a stable out the back and I'd own my own string of show ponies."

Seth smiled, "Dreams are too good to be true for a reason..." he smiled at Cara, "Well, I think I've pestered you long enough, so I'm gonna head up to my room. If that's okay of course," he grinned.
The boy didn't mind staying and talking to her, he could do that all day long, but for her sake, he had decided to end the conversation, in less she wanted him to stay. Then he definitely would.

Cara arched her eyebrows again. "Dreams are free though." She smiled at him and scrunched her nosed up. "I'll just sure that that's the way life is for my kids, if I ever have any." She placed a hand on her flat stomach, unable to ever see herself pregnant, but she wouldn't be a gymnast forever either. It was a sport where most girls peaked at eighteen, was only three years down the track. And being pregnant would ruin her dancing days, but she could always adopt.
She blinked and looked at Seth. "You don't have to go. I've finished going on about me, I promise." She sat up straight. "What about you? What was life like before coming to boarding school? If I'm allowed to ask, of course. And you can just tell me to mind my own business."

Seth was a bit surprised by her comment on kids. He had never heard the girl say anything like that before. He swallowed lightly, but smiled as she asked him to stay.
"Me?" he asked, "You know there's lots of things more interesting than me," he grinned, "But if you insist, I guess I won't mind," he joked knowing she would probably be able to write his autobiography when he was done.
"I grew up in a large town in Minnesota. And that state is outrageously cold, so I hardly ever went outside. Instead, I spent my time on the computer. I learned out to hack into things and make my own programs. Then, my mom found a better job oppurtunity in Oklahoma my sophomore year in high school. We moved to a small town, the same town Toby lived in fact, and we went to the same school. I can't tell you honestly how we became friends. I didn't have any until I moved there. I was always a nerd, I had glasses, I wear contacts now..and believe it or not, I was whiter than this," he laughed.

Cara pulled her knees up again as she listened to Seth talk. She knew computers insode and out, but she had never thought of hacking into places... Well, at least no to hack into places for the sake of it.
She smiled at his comment about being white. "Hey, a lot of the time in England, I would have given anything to be white. the upper class over there can really look down on anyone whos skin is not perfectly white." She held out her copper hands. "Yeah, a day at the races, never a fun one." Her eyebrows shot up. "You were contacts? Cool." She pulled her glasses case out of her back pocket. "There's no crime in wearing glasses though. I will admit though that if I had to wear them for more than reading, now that I'm here, I'd look at getting contacts."

The red head nodded, "Yeah, when I moved to Oklahoma, I had culture shock. Every one was rough necks and blue collar folks. I wouldn't have survived if Toby hadn't taken me under his wing. At first I thought it was because he wanted me to do his homework, but then I found out he was really smart. He introduced me to the country life..."
Seth stopped and grinned, "I would still take quiet Minnesota if given the chance," he looked out the window, "But, this is a nice school. I could never imagine myself coming here mainly to learn how to ride...English for that matter...on a donkey!" the boy looked at Cara and laughed, "How do you put up with me and not get embarrassed?"

Cara chuckled, she could imagine how intimidating Toby would have looked when they first met. She guessed that it was the one good thing about growing up in boarding schools, everyone knew where they stood in the pecking order from day one.
Give me a donkey anyday." She said with a laugh. "I would rather a placid animal to the ones I have ridden in the past. Even Bunny on a good day." She gave him a warm smile. "Why would I be embarrased? You see me Seth. Not the gymnast, not the equestrian, not the freak who knows everything. But me, the person behind all the awards. And I know there are no hidden agendas when you talk to me."

Seth smiled warmly, "Thanks," he replied, "And I try to see people as themselves..." he shrugged and looked out the window. The boy gave a small sigh, not knowing what to do or say next. He looked back at Cara and smiled.

Cara snorted. "Well, if that's the case, I must be a very borning person." She said with a chuckle. "Hey, if I'm keeping you up you can head off." She pulled the flute case closer to her again. "I suppose I should head off to my own dorm and see where I can put this, and get around to finishing off my algebra homework." She scrunched up her nose, she wasn't looking forward to that as she found algebra boring even though she was in the advanced class. "I'd rather watch paint dry." She muttered.
She smiled brightly at Seth. "Thanks for listening to me."

Seth chuckled at her last comment about paint. He noticed how she seemed happier then she ever had with her bright smile, "You're welcome, anytime," he winked. The red head then stood up and walked down the hall to his dorm room, pausing just before, grinning to himself of how happy he made the girl.

Cara smiled to herself as she watched Seth leave the room. She sighed as she straightened her legs and bounced up from the seat. She then pulled a face as she picked up the flute case again.
For so much of her life she had been told what to do an when to do it, that now she had so much time on her hands she felt lost and slightly lonely. A smiled played on her lips again. She hadn't felt lonely while she was talking to seth though.
With a light laugh, she headed up to her own dorm room to tackle the dreded algebra homework. "Where is a freshly painted wall when you need one?" She asked the room drily.
