"If you're reading this brochure, it means that you've been accepted into Cinnamon Ridge Riding School. At CRRS, we have a century long tradition of excellence in horsemanship and academics. We are proud to say that we are the best school in Maryland, with 3 Awards of Schooling Excellence given to us by the governor himself. The building itself has 4 stories surrounded by 400 acres of pastures, forest, and beautiful Maryland countryside. Here, our horses are the best of the best, going through extensive tests and training to become good enough for schooling here. Teachers go through tests of the same kind, and only the best are accepted to teach the students in academics and horsemanship. Students are expected to study and work with their horses to the best of their abilities. Life on campus will be tough, but in the long run it will be worth it. This is a boarding school, so everyone will be expected to bring the things they can't live without and live here, no matter how close you live to the school. You'll have to maintain a certain grade- point average to remain at the school, that along with other valuable info will be sent in another package. Of course, this is just a brief explanation of things to come during your stay at the academy. We hope you'll enjoy being here and continue to uphold our tradition of excellence.
Regards, Headmistress Lucille M. Lewis"
Well now. What do you think of this? Can you even begin to grasp what has just happened to you? You've been accepted into one of the top academies in the nation. Your parents have always dreamed of sending you to Cinnamon Ridge, and you're in, just like that. All you had to do was fill in a little application and brag about your previous studies. Easy. A little too easy...
You're probably wondering what life will be like at the academy. Take it from me, it's not the easiest. I've been here for three years, and each year it only gets harder- the expectations are higher, the teachers are tougher. And the competitions are extreme. You'll be put up against some of the best schools around, with elite kids who will stop at nothing to get what they want.
On top of this, there's a shooter at the academy. He's layed low for a while, but don't let your guard down. He's killed before, and he'll kill again. He's shot at several students already. The academy of course is trying to play it off and keep it on the down low, make it seem like no biggie. But it is. The kids are trying to move on with their lives; nearly impossible considering the killer hasn't been caught. The trail has run cold and the police are at a loss. The academy is continuing to accept new students, trying to make it seem like life has gone on. You and I both know the truth; it hasn't.
So, you still considering coming here? If you are you've got guts. Brace yourself- things aren't easy here , nor will they ever be.
