He didn't have to own a race horse to give one of them a good gallop. Trip patted the large stallion's neck as he tossed his head in an impatient fashion. Artemis was a bit of an arse at times, but he was a good horse over all. Trip was just trying to get him up to be a good cross-country jumper. He was mostly a Show Jumper and had come from the Navy Show Jumping Team which Trip had been part of. Trip was going further with Three Day Eventing. He already had a fully trained Three Day Eventer, his mare Kalles, but Artemis had to be taught something or he'd go mad. He also had his Dressage mare, Plaex, who was also an arse.

The chestnut stallion snorted, shaking his long mane. "Now, that's uncalled for." Trip muttered in his Irish accent, rolling his eyes. The stallion was an actor if ever there was one. He pushed the warmed up horse into a canter, collecting him up as he started to get a little flat and fast. He was an idiot sometimes. He was on the jump track with the small hurdles. He aimed Artemis at the first and the horse pricked up his ears, clearing the three foot jump easily. The horse snorted, lowering his head and kicking up his hind legs. damn, Trip thought he'd grown out of doing this in Cross country. He sat back, letting Artemis play out his little tantrum. The horse slowly subsided, raising his head and swishing his tail in an annoyed fashion. "You finished now?" Trip asked sarcastically, turning the horse back down to the end of the track again.

Sierra Snorted. The horse wasn't Wills, just a friends. In fact his old Foster mothers horse. Sierra was 14 years old. Last time Will'd seen Sierra he was still up to his old tricks. Sierra was even worse. And know Ms. Miller-the lady that owned Sierra- was considering selling him, even with such excellent breeding. Sierra skittered and bucked. Will had a nice crop in his hand. He held it firmly and smacked him when he tried to bite. Sierra jumped up in the air, his back legs were barely touching the ground and his front ones raised in the air. "HA! Come on!" Will said. Sierra bolted forward. Sticking his nose high into the air. It was slowing him down and probably hurting his back. Sierra saw the fence, uh oh. Just one more challenge for the horse. He grabbed the bit before Will could notice and went soaring over the tiny little hurtle with three feet left. He kicked up dirt and snorted. Will tried to angle him around, but just like anyone watching, he knew it was useless. Sierra already made up his mind. Will went along with it. He seemed to be entertained by the little hurtles, and he wasn't stopping like he usually did when he ran. So Will didn't fight it. That caught Sierra by surprise and he skid to a stop and started to buck. Sierra was just looking for a challenge. Know that Will had decided not to fight...it wasn't a challenge anymore. Will didn't react the fighting. Sierra gave up and literally collapsed on the ground and Went to roll. Will hopped off right in time. "Drama Queen, get your butt up." Will hadn't finished the sentence before Sierra was up. But Will had grabbed his bridle before he could sprint off. Will noticed some guy looking at him. "Howdy, sorry if I spooked you're horse."

Artemis pricked his ears up, looking at the approching horse with interest. In all intensive facts, Artemis was a rather lazy animal, he only gave a kick when he had to, this horse was obviously expending way too much energy as it was. Much better to give in, it caused less work to be done and usually involved something nicer at the end.

Trip raised an eyebrow, turning his stallion around to face the oncoming horse, not wanting Artemis to take it as a threat, as he no doubt would. Stallion...He let Artemis have a longer rein, since he really wasn't going anywhere unless the other horse made a move. Which it didn't look like he was going to do, he was too preoccupied with his rider. To be truthful it was quite entertaining. He could see where he'd tied Plaex and her ears were also pricked, watching the scene unfold. She was a tall silver dun andalusian with good breeding but a good attitude on her towards not doing anything she didn't want to. She was also a stunt mare...when she wanted to be.

Artemis laid his ears back, raising his head slightly. "Oh, don't worry, he's just being an arse." He replied casually with a smile. He smiled a lot, most of the time. "Quite a horse you got there, definately got some...spirit to it." He turned Artemis side on, so the stallion didn't get any ideas, he was already looking over at Plaex anyway, pretending to ignore the other horse. "I'm Trip, by the way, Trip Tucker." He dismounted and held out a hand to the man.

"You better put you hand aw-" Sierra reached out faster then you could blink, obviously he'd had quite some years to master this trick, and almost took a chunk off of Trip's arm. Will smacked Sierra's whithers from behind. Sierra threw his head up and side stepped. "Nasty old horse, spirit's a little weak for this one. More like . . . possessed," Will said.

Liza smirked, she was leaned against the rail. She hopped it and trotted over. She slid off his saddle and said, "Sierra is to you, as Jealous is to Me."

"Hardy har har," Will said. "Only, you and Jealousy have bigger issues."

"Oh really? And how long has your fued with Sierra lasted?" Liza asked with raised eyebrows.

"Forget about Father knows best, time for me to pass the crown onto my daughter," Will said. "I taught you everything you know gal, and you know it."

"You taught me, sure. I just Perfected it," Liza said with a smirk. She spotted Trip and paused a second, blushed and grabbed the saddle and headed off to the barn.

"Sorry I'm-" Will started to extend his hand but caught Sierra leaning close to him. He tightened his grip on the reins and reconsidered, pulling his hand back towards himself, "-I'm Will. Sorry about Sierra. He's always been a hand full."

Trip withdrew his hand just in time. "I guess he's not into shaking hands." He muttered. Artemis laid back his ears, raising his head at the unruly stallion. He was now showing himself to be the young gentleman's mount. A perfect gentleman himself, who didn't interact with the riff-raff. Stupid animal. He was contemplating just going over to get Plaex and give her a blast around the track. She might not be as fast as some of the thoroughbreds, but she could marshel most of them for stamina.

Possessed indeed. "Well, I'm happy it's you riding him instead of me. Artemis used to be the same." He laid a hand on the stallion's neck. "He was bought by the navy and they really bucked him into shape. If you want a damned good horse, get an old Navy jumper." He said with a shrug. He might be a little biased, but who cared, he was allowed to be sicne he was an old Navy officer.

Conversation insued and Trip glanced over to see if Plaex was getting herself into any trouble, as she invariably did. Nope, for once she was just standing there, looking bored. Eh, he'd give her a ride later. He did need to find a buyer for her foal though, sprightly little thing, but an arse to handle. Oh, well, the search continues.

"Perfectly alright." Trip replied. "Polite habits can get you into a hell of bad situations." Odd thought, but it was true. Be nice to the mafia and you get shot. Well, be nasty and it was the same thing. Be nice to a Navy officer, they look at you strangely then give you double duty. In other words, be blank and you'll do fine. "Nice to meet you and you're devil."

"Not mine. Mine's grazin' in his Pasture. Sierra here is trying to be retrained. I honestly don't want to train the little nasty, surprisingly. He might be sold, even with such beautiful, well manored, foals. His owner's had enough of the stupid games. We just haven't found the right thing for him. There's nothing for him to look forward to everyday because he lives on a race track and when they get him out here he'll break records but once he's ahead, it's no challenge for him. They even put him in the derby. He was winning then he decided to do some trot and walk work and then decided it would be funny to buck his rider off," Will said looking at Sierra he flew up his head getting annoyed. "It hurt a whole hell of a lot. You could have killed me you stupid mongrel," Will said but he smiled after it.

He looked at Trip, "So you worked in the navy? I worked in Homicide, S.W.A.T., did some work for Air Force too. I flew a Fighter Mig-29 Fulcrum," Will said. "We went over to Iraq to help get Osama Binladin (sp?)," he said. "But I was really trained for Homicide. That's why they needed me I guess. That's what they told me anyways," Will said shrugged. Sierra suddenly went to bite Will but Will ducked and the reins got in the way and they snapped clean apart. Sierra threw up his head and bolted off. Heading for the fences. Jumping them clean over. Will had hopped the fence and grabbed Eagle. She was better with jumping, since she did three day sometimes. Eagle was also faster then a lot of horses when she wanted to be at least. She leaped the fence and had to turn sharp or else she'd hit the other fence and slipped slightly. She turned the opposite way and headed down the track. She picked up speed like a bat out of hell. Her belly looked like it would scrape the ground and her kick was huge. They met Sierra half way down. Sierra turned and started to head for the hills. He was having a blast. Will and Eagle got themselves closer but Eagle was starting to fall away and Sierra was picking up more Speed. Will gave Eagle all the reins and she leaped up front and Will reached out grabbing the broken reins with his gloved hands and took his whip and set it in front of his chest. Sierra stopped. Whoops. The rein's slipped from his hands and Eagle kept going. Will whistled. Eagle slowed down. Sierra was already half way down the track. But Liza was already waiting.

"Hey boy," She said and stood in front of him. Sierra slowed down and looked at Liza curiously. Then he tried to bite her and she moved to his side and hopped on. He seemed bewildered. But when he felt the weight he tried to buck her off. She kicked him into a go and he got mad. He trotted then cantered and started to do a bit of bucking, kind of twisting his haunches. "Ho...it's ok," she said. Sierra twitched his ears back then forwards then pinned them and snorted. He stopped and pawed the ground. He looked like a toddler trying to complain. Will stood by Eagle on the ground now watching.

"Well I'll be a monkey's uncle," Will said watching. Eagle lipped his hair as if wondering if she'd get a treat. He pulled out a carrot and patted her neck.

Sierra snorted and Liza kicked him forward again. She trotted over to Will. "You think he'd be good for Dressage?" she asked. Seirra tried to kicked her with his back leg and she flicked her whip by his face. He set it down.

"Well hell! I didn't think of that! Call up Mary and ask. She might let you retrain him in dressage instead." Will looked over at Trip. He wondered if the Navy Officer would be laughing at the scene or not. Will knew he would. He'd just done the stupidest thing. He got Sierra to stop but forgot to stop Eagle. How idiotic was that? And what's worse, his own daughter showed him up. Getting old sucks.

"Ah, just assumed, since not many people would put up with a horse like that if it wasn't there's." He said truthfully, he definately wouldn't. A horse like that would be straight off to the Navy training yards like a shot. "If you want to find somewhere to send him, I do say the Navy, they'd find something for it to do, they found something for Artemis and now he's a Grand Prix jumper." Yes, the horse was still an arse in many ways, but at least he was a good arse. He'd jump the moon if he has a crosspole in front of it.

"Nice! We had a few of them landing on the decks every few days." Trip said, impressed. "I was a medic, so I only got the excitement after everyone else." He shrugged, it wasn't bad in any sense. He'd gotten enough excitement trying to extract people from sparking machinery and burning ships. They lost a lot of good medics in fires below the deck, trying to get the sailors out of engineering and such.

Artemis snorted, throwing his head into the air and picking his front hooves off the ground. "Down with you!" Trip kept a firm hand on the reins, keeping his footing solid as the stallion pranced by his side. Stupid animal. Not as stupid as this Devil horse that Will seemed to have. At least Artemis just threw a hissy fit and then got over it. He turned the horse away as he calmed, rubbing his left ear. He kept watching over one shoulder as he walked over to Plaex, swapping her place with Artemis. He swung onto the silver dun's saddle, ajusting his stirrup.

"You guys are better than television. Don't stop on my account, it's free entertainment." He called over to Will as he nudged Plaex with his heels. The Andalusian arched her neck and walked over, ignoring the other horse completely. Yep, Trip was enjoying himself. Trip stopped his stunt horse a few metres away, well out of reach of the maniac horse's hooves. "You definately have your hands full with 'im, don't you." He shook his head, smiling.

"You have no idea. Trust me," Will said. But so far Sierra was calming down. "She found her horse whisper. She doesn't know it but when she hears the stories I'll tell her about Sierra she probably will."

Jealousy in a far off pasture got pissed on the other hand. He snorted and kicked the fence. He pawed the ground and ran around in several circles. He reared and snorted. The horse was getting mad.

Will hadn't seen nor heard, but Sierra did. Sierra heard the challenge in the young stallion's calls. He snorted and pawed the ground. He threw up his head and slipped the reins from Liza's fingers. Sierra took off like a bolt. He flew over the fences. Just another thing to keep him occupied. He seemed to be shaken of the transfixture he was on and was now his loose canon self. Sierra leaped the fence into Jealousy and Liza was knocked from the saddle. She rolled away quickly. Rolling under the fence. She could only watch as Sierra and Jealousy started to tare each other to shreds. Sierra gave Jealousy a good kick in the face and clobbered him in the chest. Biting chunks out of his face. "Stop it!" She yelled angrily. How horrible. Her priza champion was being killed by that stupid maniac horse! Will louded a blank and shot it in the air. It could spook other horses who gave a crap if it saved a life. Sierra took off. Liza slipped threw the fence and ran to Jealousy. The horse was beaten up pretty good. Liza cried into the horses neck. He didn't even seem to want to bite her. That wasn't even close to Jealousy's usual attitude. Will chased after sierra on Star. Star was a better trail horse. Liza checked her horse over. A fractured leg, maybe several broken ribs, he was still breathing normally and he had several large cuts and bites.

Eagle stood there patiently knowing she'd end up being caught and there was no use. So she went and visited with another mare. They squealed at each other then settled down and ate grass by the fence with each other. Eagle didn't even flick an ear at Jealousy. Liza stopped her crying. She saw people staring at her. She was covered in some blood and Jealousy was barely moving. He flicked his ear and some times twitched his tail. When Will returned he tied up Sierra good and tight. Even if you should leave it loose if they spook, trust Will, head do more damage to the wood then it would himself. He hopped the fence and took off his shirt to shred into pieces to wrap. It was a crappy shirt anyways. It had some gay logo on it. "Liza go get the horse kit in my truck. Liza! Now!" Liza was almost frozen in spot. She got up and ran as fast as she could. Will called out his cell. Will could barely remember what happened it all happened so quick. Sierra snorted and pawed the ground. Will didn't do anything. Horses were horses, they did stupid shit, especially Sierra and he knew it. Mrs. Miller would pay for the vet bills though, he knew it for sure. And sierra, he'd be sold. He knew it.
